Privacy and cookies

What we collect
As little as possible. This is a static site — there's no account, no login, and no way for us to identify you personally from reading an article.
If you subscribe to the newsletter, we store your email address on our own hosting account (with x10hosting) in a file that is not reachable from the web. We use it for one thing only: sending you the newsletter. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can email admin@affiliate-marketing.x10.mx to be removed manually at any time.
If you contact us, we keep the email you send, and your address, only for as long as it takes to deal with the query.
If you buy something
When you order from the shop we collect what we need to fulfil the order and nothing else:
- Your name and email address — to send your download links or order updates.
- Your postal address, if you've ordered something physical, so we can post it to you.
- A record of what you bought and what you paid. We keep this for accounting (six years, as HMRC requires).
Card payments. We never see your card details. Card data goes directly to Stripe, who process the payment and store the card according to their own security standards (PCI DSS Level 1). We receive only a confirmation that payment succeeded, plus your billing name and email. Stripe's privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy.
Download links are tied to a random token, not to your identity. We record how many times a link has been used to prevent file sharing.
We never sell your data, and we don't pass it to anyone except the payment processor and the postal service needed to complete your order.
Analytics
We use privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics to count page views and see which pages are useful. This does not build a profile of you, does not follow you across other websites, and does not store data that identifies you. Aggregate numbers only.
If we later add a tool that uses cookies for analytics, this page will be updated first and a consent banner will appear before anything loads.
Affiliate links and cookies
When you click an affiliate link, the retailer (or its affiliate network, such as Amazon Associates, Awin, Impact or Webgains) may set a cookie in your browser. That cookie tells them the visit came from this site so that we get credit for the commission.
What we receive is aggregate reporting: how many clicks, how many purchases, and a total commission figure. We do not receive your name, address, order contents, payment details or any other personal information.
You can block these cookies with any content blocker and the site will work exactly as normal. Nothing here depends on tracking cookies.
Cookies we set ourselves
None for functionality. The site has no login, no preferences and no shopping cart, so there's nothing to remember about you between visits.

Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. Because we hold so little, this is usually just your newsletter subscription — an unsubscribe link or an email is enough.
To make a request, email admin@affiliate-marketing.x10.mx. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're unhappy with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Children
This site isn't directed at children and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this notice changes materially — for example, if we add an advertising network that uses cookies — we'll say so on this page and change the "last updated" date below.
